The Ambient Arts Agency proposes to gather all information about existing interactive technologies, from web-cams to touch-sensitive screens and from motion sensors to directional speakers, in order to develop the most creative solutions that will fire people's imaginations.

by being in touch with scientists, researchers and cutting-edge manufacturers of new technologies we ensure that our creative ideas are realised in their purest form and that the technology used remains 'transparent' at all times by integrating perfectly with its environment.

application examples from current projects:

> in a supermarket the fish counter's vast display units are filled with horizontal flat-screens showing fish swimming in the ocean. in an alley, on a big screen using blue-screen video techniques to replace the real the background with a fake one could, the shoppers could see themselves pushing their trolleys through an idyllic garden of eden (cartoon animation). at the check out next to each cashier is a screen showing a short looped film of snapshots from their lives.

> in the lobby of a london hotel all wall paintings are replaced with baroquely framed flat-screens showing real-time live images of another lobby in a new york hotel. using high-resolution web-cam technology people can see each other in a similar situation but at opposite ends of the globe. instead of using recorded music, the background sound could be generated by microphones picking up the ambient noise of the lobby, then treating this sound with digital effects to create chords and rhythms, before playing it back through speakers. the music would therefore evolve and vary in intensity according to the activities in the lobby. real spaces and sounds transformed into virtual ones.
